Senior Backend Engineer

About the Role

Build and scale the core booking engine, payment integrations, and real-time event processing pipeline powering 50K+ events.

What You'll Do

• Design and implement high-throughput APIs (100K+ req/min) for ticket booking, payments, and seat reservation.
• Own the Kafka-based event streaming pipeline for real-time inventory and notification systems.
• Collaborate with frontend, DevOps and product to deliver reliable, observable services.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead technical design reviews.
• Drive PostgreSQL performance tuning and Redis caching strategies.

What We're Looking For

• 4+ years of backend experience with Node.js/TypeScript in production.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, event-driven architecture.
• Experience with Kafka, Redis, PostgreSQL at scale.
• Strong grasp of REST/gRPC API design and security best practices.
• Familiarity with Cloudflare Workers or edge-compute environments is a plus.

Nice to Have

• Experience in ticketing, e-commerce, or fintech domains.
• Open-source contributions.
• AWS/GCP certifications.
